Things I'd Write About
1. The posters in the Periodicals section of the library. I understand that the library has to put the books away, but do they really need to put up pictures of somewhat-subservient-looking 1950s women in order to accomplish that?
2. Short shorts are just too short for the Honor Code.
3. The burial of the BYU arts performance page among subpages on the BYU website.
4. To students: don't expect your instructor to be there in their office, waiting to talk to you, at any hour of the day. Go to their office hours or set up an appointment.

It's almost as if the posters say we want the world to keep giving us a hard time for being subservient to men.
ReplyDeleteI actually hadn't seen that poster. I think it is another factor that contributes to the opinion that females only come to BYU to get married. Which is a somewhat degrading concept, that one, females are not only husband-hunting, we have goals and aspirations, and two, we don't have to be surrounded by thousands of boys to find a match. I just don't always appreciate the Holly Homemaker expectation in Mormon culture.
