Claim's the name...

The initially unacceptable claim in this article is about calling the cops on your own child. Many are of the opinion that you should not ever send your child to jail. However, as stated in the article, there are times when it is necessary to take more drastic action to ensure the lesson is learned. The second story in the article about the boy who beat animals, threatened his sister, and even held a knife to his mother's throat causes me to agree with the action the mother took. She obviously didn't feel like she was able to handle that situation so she decided not to take him back. You have no idea what it's like to deal with a child who would hurt or even kill someone and not think twice about it until you meet one.

My claim is for students to make healthier food choices even though there are so many foods out there that are simple to make and don't cost much. The way we eat really does have an effect on the way our brains function and the energy we get from our food. Energy drinks in particular cause serious damage due to the large amounts of caffeine and whatever else they decide to put in them. Proper amounts of sleep can also help us function better as a whole and have more energy and simply be happier. (Yes I know I am writing this after one in the morning. These are things I need to work on myself).

  3. Sara I don't think anyone would disagree with your claim; we all know that we need to eat healthy and lead healthy lives. However it's something of an inconvenience to college students and it's a choice we all (regrettably) make to be fast food junkies and to stay up late.

  4. I think college students just need to manage their time wisely. You can still get good grades, lead a healthy lifestyle, all while having a good social life as well. We as students just need to find that balance.

  5. Sarah H. makes a good point, it's finding that balance. The problem being that to find that balance you would have to take some time to plan things out until it became habitual. And sadly not many students are willing/able to take that time to plan it in a way that is sustainable.

  6. I agree with Sarah once we learn how to balance our lifestyle everything will come easy to us, because we're organized.
