Indoor practice facility

Over 400 feet in length, 200 feet wide, and 96 feet tall, the indoor practice facility is visible from almost anywhere on BYU's campus. The facility, built in 2003, houses many of BYU sports teams and was built to provide athletes at BYU with the best facilities. The indoor practice facility also hosts many intramural activities for students. During intramurals the students have the opportunity to use the indoor practice facility, but this is the only time students are allowed inside. If the tuition and tithing of the students was used to endow the building, why is it not available for students use? The indoor practice facility was paid for by students and therefore should be available for students open use.

Many people on campus believe that the indoor practice facility is only for the use of the football team. This is a common misconception as it used by the soccer team, the lacrosse team, the golf team, and the softball team. The indoor practice facility allows athletes to practice in ideal weather conditions. It gives athletes the opportunity to practice indoors when it's not permissible to practice outdoors because of inclement weather. The indoor practice facility provides BYU sports teams with 160,000 sq. ft of ideal turf practice field. Inside there are two fields one 65 yards
long the other 55 yards providing ample space for the football team to hold practice.

  3. The introduction to the topic is really good and I enjoyed reading the post.
Just one thing you might want to keep in mind for an argument you might come up against.
Some buildings are made for specific reasons and purposes. We as students can not just go and use whatever building, computer, projector if we want just because our tithing money helped pay for it. I think you just might want to keep that in mind while writing the paper.

  4. I agree with Tannen, it is difficult to express an argument like this without sounding like a little kid who's upset that this isn't fair, but I think you did a fine job at sounding mature with your numbers, it makes this more legit

  5. Yes Jessie and Tannen I agree completely with your points. Any student that wants to use a facility on campus just cant go and do that, but I am arguing for a facility that was built mainly for student athletes. Thats where Im forming my arguement. But I do agree with you.

  6. I think they should set a time apart for the students, that way it would be fair to us all.
