Claims

I found an interesting article in the Journal of Epidemiology and Community that claims that drinking a glass of wine a day while pregnant is actually healthy for the baby. I found a NY Times article that argues the same point. I don't think I need to explain why this is innitially unacceptable.

A Campus Issue:
In Heratage Halls, residents aren't allowed to hang things on the walls with anything but poster putty or 3M hooks. No tape of any kind. It's a $50 fine if you are caught. Hello?!?!? Just a little overboard.

  1. REally? Has no one heard of fetal alcohol syndrome? It amazes me that something like alcohol, which slows the brain, can be good during development. It would be interesting to know what company funded the research.

  2. I can't believe it! Fetal Alcohol Syndrome is the result of drinking while pregnant!

  3. I think the rule about using the poster putty or the hooks is a reasonable one. If they let people just put up what ever they wanted with what ever they wanted the walls would all end up looking horrible. They would be continually having to make repairs and touch ups. It just makes sense that they would request that it be done that way.
